Government Degree College, Pakala

Government Degree College. Pakala is located in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. This

college was started in academic year 2008-09 to cater to the needs of students belonging to the

marginalised sections of society such as S.C, S.T., B.C., those considered under below poverty

line. Prior to the college establishment, students were compelled to go farther places like

Tirupati or Chittoor, to pursue higher studies, and since hitherto majority of students had meagre

financial resources, they were compelled to put an end to their studies. The Government, after

taking into consideration the demands of the public, issued G.O.Ms.No:182 dated 22.08.2008 to

start the college. In a short period of time, the college helped the students in and around Pakala

to pursue their Higher education without much difficulty. Pakala with good old railway junction

connecting the town to several places, became a convenient destination to the students around.
